We have two of these car seats already for two of our other kids. So I knew I wanted another one for our newest arrival. This time however we decided to go ahead and use it from birth. Before we waited and got it when the kids were ready to go into a convertible car seat from the infant carrier. New baby is currently just shy of 4 weeks and using this car seat has been different, but still amazing.
Things I love: *Comfort for baby *One car seat will last until we no longer need a car seat. *Clear instructions on how to install and to change to each new setting as baby grows. *Removable cup holders, makes it easy when needing to clean them. Also a huge perk there is two. *Reclining options and seat height adjustment are easy to adjust.
Things I am not a fan of: * If needing to move it from one vehicle to another it’s a bit of a chore. The seat is heavy and a bit bulky.
*When taking the seat covering off and back on it is also a bit of a chore, but grateful it can come of to be washed.
*Having a newborn in the seat and other children it is a bit more difficult for outings vs an infant carrier. But this is just a temporary inconvenience.
All in all I highly recommend this car seat. Even if you wait until baby graduates from an infant carrier.

This car seat has been amazing! It’s super easy to get in and out of our vehicles and it’s the perfect size for our tiny human. The straps are super easy to tighten and loosen for her as well. The cup holders hold most sippy cups and she loves the use them as snack holders too. Definitely very sturdy! Overall I would give it a 10 out of 10!

Esta muy amplia y cómoda, yo veo q mi bebe esta feliz, bien acomodada y segura en la silla. Los broches son fáciles de abrochar por que tuve otra silla que los tenía muy duros y tardaba en asegurarla. La compre por que mi auto no tiene isofix y se ajusta con cinturón de seguridad y esta silla tiene las 2 opciones. Lean el instructivo bien ya que como se adapta a muchas etapas del bebe tiene muchas opciones de ajuste

i absolutely love this car seat. my son is so much happier and comfortable in this car seat than his last one. he enjoys being in the car so much more we went on a 4 hour trip the day after getting this car seat and he was so good, he slept most of the time which is not how our road trips went in his last one lol. it was easy to get secure in the car, only took me 10 minutes and it won’t budge. the straps seem to fit him better he has big shoulders for a little baby his last car seat the straps would either be too tight or he would be able to slip his shoulder out. this one keeps him strapped down good he can’t slip out or anything. the price for this car seat is good for how perfect it is. i love it

So I will always purchase Graco car seats for my kids. I’m not a top of the line person but car seat safety is more important than anything. A few months ago we had an accident and my 3 year old came out completely unharmed. We had the regular 4ever dxl. So we replaced it with the same graco 4ever dxl . This time for baby #2 we wanted the same seat. I decided to try the snuglock dxl because it happened to be on sale for $20 less than ($279.99) the normal price of a regular 4ever dxl ($299). It’s a bit bulkier/wider than the regular one so I’m not sure about it yet, but it definitely seems super sturdy. I may swap my toddlers seat and this one since the accident was just a few months ago and its a brand new seat as well. This 4ever dxl snuglock just came in today as manufactured 2 years ago so essentially your losing 2 years of life. Which may be another reason I give this to my toddler and give his newer manufactured one to the newborn. I would guess it was on sale for so much off due to the 2 year life loss? Which I can’t really be mad at. I’d probably being sending it back if I paid full price for one manufactured years ago. Overall I can see the quality is great, the durability is probably just as great, if not slightly better than the original made but I can’t get over how much wider it seems compared to the regular one.
Update* the second photo I brought in the original 4ever dxl (left side) to compare sizing and you can see at the lowest infant sizing, they are more snug in the original vs the wider snuglock grow dxl. Both are great, just sizing comparison if you need help deciding.

After reviewing quite a few other brands for a convertible carseat, we finally settled on this one! Few things to mention first: I (small woman) installed this carseat myself without difficulty. Carseat is installed in a 2021 Chevy Equinox LT, using the latch system. Drivers seat is set for my height to drive (I’m 5’3″, so close to the steering wheel). Carseat in picture is set at recline position 1, and head position 2.
Shipping: Arrived within 2 days of ordering. The box arrived slightly damaged with the top tape popped, but the side tape still intact. Manufacturers date is 2022, so maybe the tape was just old. Everything looked brand new upon opening the box. So my worries of it being a return were addressed.
Carseat: Color we purchased was “bryant”. I thought, based on the Amazon pictures, that this would be variants of grays, it is not. The bordering is dark grey, then a heathered brownish/purple, then the mesh is a light grey. For spending nearly $400, I am accepting of the color.
Rear facing: In other reviews, there seemed to have been some confusion about the maximum weight range for rear-facing. The manual that comes with the carseat explains further that the actual maximum weight for rear facing is indeed 40lbs. See attached photo. Some reviews say it’s only 22lbs, this is not true. Manual states any infant under 1 years of age and up to 22lbs, MUST be rear facing. But the carseat allows rearfl facing to be used up to 40lbs. So you do actually get your money’s worth in rear facing.
Straps: The height of the shoulder straps adjust as you adjust the head height position. There are 10 available positions. My 9 month old, who is currently 29″ tall, has the head rest position at 2 out of 10. This fits her very comfortably with all the infant inserts still in use. With the infant insert, there is only 1 setting for the groin buckle, however. Which I was concerned about. Little one fits just fine in it, but if you have a boy or a chunkier bottom baby, and need the infant insert, you might consider this. There are 2 settings for the groin buckle when the infant insert is removed though.
Other: The carseat is a decent weight. I was able to carry it though, and I don’t see it being an issue when transferring it to my husband’s vehicle.
Installation: This was simple and easy as well, when I followed the manual direction. I used the latch system as it actually resolved another issue another review had. When I used the shoulder and lap belt, I was able to tild the entire carseat forward to the backseat headrest. That meant to me, that the carseat would easily flip my child forward into the backseat headrest. Not ok with that! So I used the latch system instead and when installed as the manual instructs (push down on the carseat base and pull the latch strap up), this thoroughly secured the carseat! There is hardly any movement of the carseat with the latch system.
Overall: I think this is a great purchase, it fits in my Equinox beautifully and I can see that getting little one in and out will be a breeze! READ THE MANUAL, it’s there for a reason. I know I’m getting comfort, safety, and security with this purchase. I would buy this again for our future little ones! Hope this detailed review helps. I do NOT get paid for reviews, I just thought other parents would appreciate a thorough review, as that is what I was looking for when considering this carseat.
